Frequently asked questions.

What is alternative provision?

Alternative provision is support for young people who are unable to access mainstream school for a variety of reasons. Our provision offers bespoke enrichment and engagement for young people who need a different kind of environment to thrive. We create positive experiences that build confidence, promote wellbeing, and encourage young people to make positive choices about their future

Who do you support?

We work with young people aged 11-16 years old, who may be struggling to engage in mainstream education or who benefit from a more flexible, relationship-based approach. Our sessions are designed for those who need support with confidence, emotional regulation, motivation, SEMH needs, anxiety based school avoidance or re-engagement into learning and life skills.

What makes your provision different?

Our approach is young person–led and focuses on individual growth. Each young person’s plan is bespoke, built around their interests, strengths, and needs. Through meaningful mentorship and real world experiences, we help every participant find a sense of belonging, purpose, and direction.

What can be expected from your sessions?

Our sessions are bespoke and young person led, providing enrichment, life skills, outdoor activities, and sports. With dedicated mentorship, young people develop confidence, engagement, and make positive choices in a supportive and structured environment.

How are young people reffered to your provision?

Referrals can come from schools, local authorities, alternative providers, or other professionals working with young people. Parents and carers can also make direct enquiries to discuss whether our provision is suitable.

What outcomes do you aim for?

Our goal is to help young people re-engage positively with their community, education, or training and equip them with the skills, confidence, and mindset to make positive choices for their next steps.

How do you keep young people safe?

Safety is our top priority. All staff are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding and behaviour management. Our sessions are delivered in small groups or 1:1, with clear routines, risk assessed activities, and consistent mentor support. We work closely with schools and families to ensure every young person feels safe, supported, and able to make positive choices.

How do young people access your support? Is transport provided?

All young people are collected directly from home or school, as agreed with parents and or the referring school. Transport is provided by car, and each young person is collected by their mentor, helping to build consistency, trust, and strong relationships from the very beginning. At the end of each session, young people are returned safely to the agreed location.
